Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with the general public, preferably seniors
  • ServSafe certification required
  • Ability to follow instructions and prepare ingredients as instructed
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years of successful experience working with the general public, preferably with seniors
  • Relevant ServSafe certification preferred
  • Basic understanding of food safety standards and cleanliness
  • Must be ServSafe certified as required by Elder Affairs Director
  • Ability to follow instructions and prepare ingredients as instructed
  • Must possess ability to work independently
  • Possess verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to function with minimal supervision
  • Must have strong organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Help set up and serve meals to senior center participants in a friendly and respectful manner
  • Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, dining areas, and food prep stations
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines
  • Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries properly
  • Take out trash and recycling and maintain overall kitchen and dining room organization
  • Support special events and holiday meals as needed
  • Work cooperatively with kitchen staff, volunteers, and senior center team members
  • Other related duties as assigned
