Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to stand and walk 95 percent of the workday
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Ability to perform repetitive motions including lifting, keypad entry and chopping
- Ability to use both hands to grasp, move or operate objects
- Flexibility to learn new concepts, cooperate with others and adapt to various assignments
- Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all student information
- Commitment to follow all HACCP food safety standards
- Willingness to participate in required training including USDA professional standards training
- Availability to work approximately 30 hours per week over 172 work days
- Willingness to travel between multiple school sites if requested
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent

- Verbal and written communication skills in English
- Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written, graphic and oral instructions
Job Duties
- Assist in the proper set up and cleanup of serving areas for timely service to students
- Follow and understand all HACCP standards
- Use all kitchen equipment properly and clean equipment according to safety precautions
- Serve meals daily while complying with all school food regulations and health department sanitation standards
- Independently follow menu and recipe instructions including preparation, cooking and serving food at proper temperatures and portion sizes
- Assist in unloading and proper storage of delivered food items
- Learn and operate Point of Sale system and reconcile monies daily to ensure accuracy
- Pursue opportunities to create positive relationships with the surrounding community including Nutrition Services staff, school staff, students and parents
- Communicate effectively in both written and verbal form including electronic mail
- Participate in training including PGI classes and USDA mandatory professional standards training
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
- Willing to travel to multiple schools based on site needs and flex work schedule
- Assist in the preparation, service, and sale of meals ensuring compliance with department regulations including washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting and chopping fresh fruits, vegetables and meat items
- Follow standard recipes and proper portion sizes and verbal instructions
