Job Requirements

  • Some lifting, bending, standing in one place required
  • Willingness to communicate professionally and respectfully with Food Service Director, Kitchen Manager, Cashier Manager, coworkers, building staff, and delivery personnel
  • Must adhere to applicable state and federal laws, rules and regulations, board policies and administrative rules
  • Must maintain confidentiality in the school operation
  • Must accept constructive criticism, feedback, and suggestions
  • Must dress appropriately as specified by the Food Service Director including wearing hairnet, cap, or wide band, aprons, and gloves as appropriate

Job Qualifications

  • Preference for high school graduate, but not required
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to follow health and hygiene practices precisely
  • Knowledge of National School Lunch Program guidelines and ND Department of Public Instruction standards

Job Duties

  • Assist in the final preparation before serving meals
  • Assist in preparing meals for satellite locations
  • Assist in prepping and preparing fresh fruits and vegetables daily for breakfast and/or lunch
  • Assist in stocking ala carte items and maintain inventory
  • Assist in monitoring tray accuracy, items on the tray meet reimbursable meal requirements
  • Maintain daily production records for breakfast and lunch
  • Assist with dishwashing and clean-up of the kitchen area throughout the day and after meals have been served
