Job Requirements
- Ability to meet attendance requirements
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English
- Ability to cook, taste and smell food
- Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing and some climbing
- Ability to lift and carry light to heavy objects up to 50 lbs frequently
- Ability to work in kitchen environment with temperature changes
- Ability to comply with The Salvation Army's religious mission
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- One year experience working in a kitchen preferred
- Food Handler's Certification or ability to obtain within established timeframe
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work under supervision
- Ability to follow instructions accurately
Job Duties
- Prep nutritional meals and snacks in accordance with established guidelines and schedules
- Serve meals in a safe and presentable manner
- Clean kitchen facilities, equipment and appliances
- Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and food
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
- Assist with kitchen organization and stock management
- Follow all health and safety regulations
