Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- ability to perform frequent standing, reaching, lifting, bending, kneeling, stooping, squatting, climbing, pushing, twisting, and pulling with items up to 40 lbs
- capacity to perform repetitive motions including chopping and keypad entry
- flexibility to travel to multiple schools as needed
- willingness to adjust work schedule to meet kitchen demands
- ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
- willingness to maintain confidentiality of student information
- commitment to customer service and cooperation with a wide variety of people
- ability to follow detailed food preparation rules and safety protocols
- participation in required training sessions annually

- familiarity with safety and sanitation standards including HACCP
Job Duties
- participate in training including PGI classes
- lead training for other kitchen staff members when needed
- complete all USDA Mandatory Professional Standards training annually
- pursue regulatory changes and provide sustainable solutions
- assist in meal preparation including washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting and chopping
- follow standard recipes, portion sizes and verbal instructions
- assist in setup and cleanup of serving areas including dishwashing and sanitation
- follow all HACCP standards and safety precautions using kitchen equipment properly
- serve meals daily ensuring compliance with school food regulations and health department sanitation standards
- take and record proper cooking and serving temperatures
- independently follow menu and recipe instructions
- assist in unloading and proper storage of delivered food items
- learn and operate Point of Sale system and reconcile monies daily
- create positive relationships with school community members
- maintain confidentiality of student information
