Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in food preparation preferred
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • Capability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Knowledge of food safety standards
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including emergency substitutions

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in food preparation or commercial kitchen setting preferred
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and recipes
  • Basic math skills for portioning and recipe adjustments

Job Duties

  • Assist in preparation, packaging and distribution of nutritious food items following district procedures
  • Follow recipes, production sheets, portioning standards and use appropriate kitchen equipment
  • Assist in cleaning, maintaining and troubleshooting kitchen equipment
  • Report equipment malfunctions immediately to supervisor
  • Complete daily food preparation, tray line or dispersion tasks within allotted time
  • Comply with all food safety, sanitation and HACCP procedures
  • Substitute in school location on emergency basis when required
