Job Requirements
- must be able to attend staff orientations and be available to live at camp or provide full-time kitchen coverage from mid-May to mid-August
- must be high-energy, enthusiastic, creative, and open-minded
- ability to walk up to 2 miles per day including stairs and uneven terrain
- ability to stand, sit, run, swim, and lift or body block campers when necessary
- ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments including loud spaces and under the sun
- willingness to take on varied tasks and work collaboratively
- ability to organize and handle items carefully
- satisfactorily meet employment screening and documentation requirements at the Staenberg-Loup JCC
Job Qualifications
- willingness to take on varied tasks across different camp areas and work collaboratively
- ability to carefully organize, label, and handle camper items in both kitchen and laundry settings
- satisfactorily fulfill employment requirements including background screening, references, and documentation
- high-energy, enthusiastic, creative, and open-minded
- food handler certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- familiarity with kosher and allergen protocols preferred
- previous experience in food service, housekeeping, or laundry preferred
Job Duties
- assist with meal prep including washing, peeling, chopping, and organizing ingredients
- prepare dining hall before meals by setting up tables, dishes, cutlery, napkins, condiments, and beverages
- clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment maintaining health standards
- follow kosher and allergen management policies ensuring safe food handling
- wash, dry, fold camper laundry and camp linens ensuring organization
- maintain cleanliness and stocking of laundry room and dining hall bathrooms including essential supplies
- identify and report hazards in laundry and camp areas to facilities or director team
