Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- ability to work full-time during the summer season from mid-May to mid-August
- ability to reside at camp or be available for full-time kitchen coverage
- physical ability to walk up to two miles daily including stairs and uneven terrain
- ability to stand, sit, run, swim, and lift or body block campers when necessary
- willingness to work in indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes loud and hectic
- must pass background screening and meet employment eligibility per camp policies
Job Qualifications
- willingness to take on varied tasks across different camp areas and work collaboratively
- ability to carefully organize, label, and handle camper items in kitchen and laundry settings
- meet employment requirements including background screening, references, documentation, and compliance with CDHS law
- high-energy, enthusiastic, creative, and open-minded
- preferred food handler certification or willingness to obtain
- familiarity with kosher and allergen protocols (training provided)
- previous experience in food service, housekeeping, or laundry work preferred
Job Duties
- assist with meal prep including washing, peeling, chopping, and organizing ingredients
- prepare dining hall for meals by setting up tables, dishes, cutlery, napkins, condiment stations, and beverage areas
- clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- follow kosher and allergen compliance policies for safe food handling and serving
- wash, dry, and fold camper laundry, camp linens, and other washable items
- maintain cleanliness and organization in the laundry room and report supply needs
- stock bathrooms and hand washing stations in dining hall with essentials and maintain cleanliness
- identify and report hazards in laundry and camp areas to facilities or director team
- perform other duties as assigned including assisting with camp programs and events
