Job Requirements
- Food handlers permit required
- 1+ year in kitchen experience preferred
- Experience in cooking for a mass population preferred
- Experience in working with and knowledge of vulnerable populations is a plus
- In-depth knowledge of kitchen health and safety regulations
- Ability to work well in a stressful and fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict management abilities
- Outstanding communication and organizational skills

Job Duties
- Ensure customers' food allergies are known and safely supported
- Participate in the food preparation and cooking process
- Assist Nutrition Manager to monitor inventory levels and perform weekly inventory assessments
- Ensure the organization and sanitation of the kitchen, serving area, and dining room
- Receive and store all food products in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Ensure food security and proper security of potentially harmful equipment and chemicals
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and inventory of freezers/refrigerators and pantry storage
- Follow a monthly menu created by the Nutrition Manager
- Receive feedback on food from the population served and assist in adapting the menu
- Ensure food service-related equipment is kept in good working order and is regularly maintained
- Know their population being served
- Assist the Nutrition Manager in other duties as needed
