Job Requirements
- Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to employees, dining room staff, and guests
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to six hours
- Must have the ability to lift pots, pans, etc., up to 40 pounds in weight
- Must be able to read and write to facilitate communication
- Must possess finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment
- Kitchen staff generally offered as part time restaurant job
- Full time opportunities are also available
- Prior experience as cook, line cook, chef, prep cook, grill cook, fry cook, or other back of the house is preferred but not required
Job Qualifications

- Capability to lift pots, pans, and other kitchen items weighing up to 40 pounds
- Basic reading and writing skills to facilitate communication
- Finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment
- Prior experience as cook, line cook, chef, prep cook, grill cook, or fry cook preferred but not required
- Willingness to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- Complete all assigned prep work and set up cook's station according to restaurant standards
- Maintain product presentations, product quality, and cook time standards
- Prepare all menu items according to Applebee's recipes, plate presentations, and specifications
- Communicate clearly with employees, dining room staff, and guests
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen work area
- Assist colleagues and support team operations during busy periods
- Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines while working in the kitchen
