Job Requirements

  • Must have at least 1 year of professional kitchen experience
  • Culinary training preferred
  • ServSafe certification preferred or must complete training
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move up to 10 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 50 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to walk, bend, twist, reach, and handle food products frequently
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with supervisors and coworkers
  • Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations positively
  • Flexible working hours including holidays and weekends
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus

Job Qualifications

  • ServSafe training certification preferred or ability to complete training
  • Proficiency in kitchen operations and execution
  • Working knowledge of U.S. measurements, weight, and volume
  • Ability to follow safe use instructions for chemicals and cleaning materials
  • Effective communication with supervisors and coworkers
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage time efficiently
  • Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations positively
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus but not required
  • Flexible working hours including holidays and weekends

Job Duties

  • Prepare menu items accurately and promptly when ordered through point of sale system
  • Make only items ordered through the point of sale system and maintain integrity
  • Accommodate special requests with management approval to enhance guest experience
  • Prepare dishes according to recipes to ensure quality and consistency
  • Cook menu items cooperatively with kitchen staff for timely and high-quality food delivery
  • Remake items when instructed by supervisors or managers
  • Adhere to food handlers safety guidelines including temperature controls, labeling, and avoiding cross-contamination
  • Maintain cleanliness by washing dishes and cleaning work areas during and at end of shift
  • Stock kitchen areas with dry products and prep materials, restocking consistently
  • Use FIFO system to keep food fresh and eliminate waste
  • Maintain waste logs for discarded items
  • Keep supervisor and kitchen manager informed of inventory levels
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
  • Work safely using cutting gloves and assistance with heavy items
  • Lock and secure food and equipment
  • Follow all opening, mid, and closing procedures
  • Attend and participate in trainings and meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned
