Kindred Table is a chef-inspired New American restaurant opening inside the Crowne Plaza Lansing. Our name reflects our philosophy: 'Kindred' speaks to those who feel like family, and 'Table' signifies the gathering place where people connect. Job Requirements

  • Ability to cook food to order
  • Produce soups, sauces, proteins, cut vegetables and fruits, and create displays for buffets
  • Meet time standards to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Communication skills, written and verbal, in the primary language(s) used in the workplace
  • Basic technology and computational skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including, nights, weekends and/or holidays
  • Ability to read and follow recipes
  • Ability to navigate and use necessary software and applications
  • Ability to perceive and detect uncleanliness and soiled surfaces
  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn, basic food safety practices and abide by them
  • Efficient knife skills and ability to prepare food using the necessary equipment
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure

Job Qualifications

  • A high school or equivalent education is preferred
  • Minimum of six months of prior culinary experience is required
  • Strong knife skills and good cooking technique
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Prep and cook dishes to order with consistency and pride
  • Prepare soups, sauces, proteins, fruits, vegetables, and buffet items
  • Follow recipes and maintain a clean, efficient, food-safe kitchen
  • Keep pace during service to ensure great guest experiences
  • Communicate clearly with your team
  • Bring a collaborative, solution-forward attitude to every shift
