- ability to lift 50 to 55 lbs and manage heavier loads with assistance as needed

Job Duties
- provides superior customer service
- takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- answers customer questions regarding products
- assists them with selections
- prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
- slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
- assists in technical areas as needed such as basic set-up and clean-up processes
- uses suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
- cleans and sanitizes display cases
- operates and maintains equipment properly
- complies with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
- complies with department and store operating procedures
- records production and shrink to aid in production planning in bakery
- assists in technical areas such as baking, frying, and decorating in bakery
- culls bakery products for poor quality and expiration dates
- takes care of service counter customers in deli
- uses ordering system applications in deli
- uses fresh production planner in deli
- performs inventory management processes as required in deli
- ensures catering orders are prepared and ready in time for customer pickup if applicable
- performs all sanitation and maintenance tasks for deli slicers
- serves and packages products at customer's request in prepared foods
- educates customers on preparation and reheating instructions of prepared foods
- prepackages condiments for prepared food items
- cuts, slices, dices, and chops food in preparation for chef
