Job Requirements
- Meets educational and experience qualifications established by state law
- holds CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date
- previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred
- ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities
- previous experience with diverse populations
- ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from diverse backgrounds
- must pass Level 2 Background Screening including fingerprint check through FDLE and FBI

Job Duties
- Implements curriculum within the established guidelines
- designs and implements daily lesson/activity plans
- supervises the children, classroom, and all activities
- makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child
- conducts parent conferences and maintains positive relationships and effective communication with parents
- engages parents as volunteers
- maintains program site and equipment
- ensures the area is safe
- maintains required program records
- attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training
- uses Daxko Engage technology to build relationships with members and children
- encourages and sells programs
- applies YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to best practices, emergency procedures, medical and disciplinary situations, and child abuse prevention
- ensures the health and safety of all members/guests
- inspects physical space to ensure safety, orderliness, sanitation, and cleanliness of facilities
