Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • meet educational and experience qualifications established by state law
  • obtain CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire
  • previous experience working with children in developmental settings preferred
  • ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate program activities
  • experience working with diverse populations
  • pass Level 2 Background Screening including fingerprint check

Job Qualifications

  • Meets educational and experience qualifications established by state law

Job Duties

  • Implements curriculum within the established guidelines
  • designs and implements daily lesson/activity plans
  • supervises the children, classroom, and all activities
  • makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child
  • conducts parent conferences and maintains positive relationships and effective communication with parents
  • maintains program site and equipment, ensuring the area is safe
  • maintains required program records
  • attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training
  • uses Daxko Engage technology to build relationships with members and children
  • encourages and sells programs
  • applies YMCA policies and procedures related to best practices, emergency procedures, medical and disciplinary situations, and child abuse prevention
  • ensures the health and safety of all members/guests
  • inspects physical space to ensure safety, orderliness, sanitation, and cleanliness of facilities
