Job Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain tribal work permit
  • valid driver's license
  • Washington State Food Handler Permit within 14 days of start
  • Mandatory Alcohol Server Training certification within 90 days of employment or first available class
  • willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to lift and move objects up to 65 pounds
  • excellent communication and organizational skills
  • proficiency in computer applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and email
  • typing speed of at least 60 wpm
  • ability to work under pressure and resolve problems
  • adherence to KGCC policies
  • drug testing clearance
  • background investigation clearance

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in event management or equivalent experience
  • minimum of 2 years’ banquet, catering, and event industry experience
  • minimum of 2 years’ sales experience in banquet, catering, event or hotel sales
  • experience in front-of-house positions
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • familiarity with computer-based point of sale systems
  • skilled in multitasking and organizational management
  • ability to work collaboratively with teams
  • knowledge of office procedures and event terminology
  • exceptional client relationship skills
  • ability to maintain professionalism and positive attitude

Job Duties

  • Ensures compliance with tribal gaming compact and internal controls
  • takes inquiry calls and conducts property tours
  • drafts and edits proposals for special events
  • understands professional contract verbiage and event venues
  • coordinates tradeshow and promotional collateral
  • communicates effectively in event terminology
  • processes deposits and facilitates follow-up communications
  • supports F&B department and event management with banquet event orders and sales forecasting
  • assists with event execution ensuring smooth operations
  • attends weekly BEO meetings
  • promotes positive guest relations and timely client correspondence
  • monitors food, service, and ambiance satisfaction
  • coordinates special arrangements with departments
  • maintains accurate sales forms and utilizes catering software
  • presents a positive image and adheres to company policies
  • ensures protection of company assets
  • works flexible hours as needed
  • participates in internal review hearings if required
