Job Description

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • basic math skills
  • prior experience in restaurant or food service preferred
  • ability to stand and move for up to 4 hours per shift
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely
  • capability to use knives and slicing equipment
  • ability to work in environments with temperature extremes and wet floors
  • must be able to follow safety protocols
  • legal ability to work in the country
  • availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • ability to provide appropriate notice for missed shifts

Job Qualifications

  • Reading, writing, basic math and verbal communication skills
  • ability to communicate clearly and listen attentively
  • capable of using POS and Back Office computer systems
  • certified trainer in FOH or BOH positions
  • exhibits leadership qualities
  • District Manager/Market President approval required

Job Duties

  • Ensures prompt, friendly service according to company guidelines
  • fosters a culture in accordance with Flynn - Applebee's Premier Card of Values and Beliefs
  • ensures product preparation and presentation meet company standards
  • receives product to verify freshness and invoice accuracy
  • refers all guest complaints to the MOD
  • corrects unsafe practices or conditions
  • promotes restaurant cleanliness and sanitation
  • advises MOD of non-routine situations
  • completes all assignments promptly and properly
  • communicates with managers daily
  • demonstrates proper execution of training systems
  • assures compliance with company policies
  • acts as coach to all employees
  • maintains and controls company assets
  • complies with cash handling procedures
  • assists management with line checks and daily controls
  • develops goals for personal and professional growth
  • provides role model behavior for employees
  • mixes and serves beverages
  • interacts verbally with bar guests
  • completes opening and closing side work
  • processes employee and manager food orders
  • relays food orders to kitchen via POS system
