Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • one year experience working with kettle fundraising programs preferred or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge skills and abilities
  • valid state driver’s license
  • ability to meet attendance requirements
  • ability to read write and communicate the English language
  • ability to follow instructions and work with limited supervision
  • ability to prepare accurate and complete records and reports
  • ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers and staff
  • ability to lead motivate and evaluate the work of volunteers and staff
  • ability to maintain volunteer and financial database

Job Duties

  • interview recruits screens and select bell ringing staff and volunteers ensuring all sites are covered effectively
  • plan schedule and assign work of staff and volunteers instruct in proper methods and procedures check and approve work in progress and upon completion to ensure accuracy completeness and compliance with Salvation Army policies and procedures
  • maintain contact with staff and volunteers throughout their service answer questions concerns or problems recognize workers through correspondence by mail in person or by phone
  • prepare and maintain up-to-date records and databases for daily kettle income information prepare reports regarding the status of the kettle program provide staff and volunteers with documentation of the hours worked
  • plan coordinate and prepare special events prepare plaques and certificates of recognition prepare and maintain special event records for future reference
  • meet with community leaders and organizations and discuss Salvation Army needs
  • drive Salvation Army vehicle to deliver and collect kettles and supplies to kettle locations and workers
  • assist with counting recording and depositing of kettle funds
