Job Requirements
- Four-year college degree in hospitality business or related field or equivalent experience
- Three to five years of progressively responsible hotel front office management experience
- Ability to work variable hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to lead and manage a diverse team
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
- Preparedness to work during emergency situations as part of critical status team
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Hospitality Business or a related field
- Three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in managing a hotel front office area
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent problem-solving and customer service abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in hospitality management software and related technology
- Ability to analyze data and prepare reports
- Capacity for multitasking and handling variable work hours including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Assist in developing and maintaining adherence to policies and procedures designed to provide high quality guest services within a competitive cost structure
- Monitor guest activity and satisfaction, answer questions, resolve escalated guest concerns, respond to suggestions, and engage in proactive marketing of the Kellogg Center
- Interview, recommend for hire, and review the performance of assigned regular and student support staff
- Oversee training and development of assigned support staff including cross training to ensure continuity and effective operations of guest service areas
- Oversee staff scheduling, monitor employee morale and resolve concerns and problems, answer questions regarding policies, procedures and operational activities, and assist assigned support staff in providing optimal customer service and in performing assigned responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance of a safe work environment
- Prepare and monitor comprehensive hotel room revenue performance reports in adherence to assigned rate integrity goals
- Oversee inventory maintenance and control
- Review data, prepare reports, and respond to changes in the business and operational environment to provide high quality, cost-effective guest services
- Review reports from other hotel areas and resolve problems related to guest services
- Serve as a liaison between guest services and other hotel areas
- Maintain currency in hotel and guest service operations through coursework, literature, and attendance at workshops, seminars, conferences
