Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous housekeeping experience
  • ability to stand, stoop, stretch, crawl, crouch, kneel, balance, finger, grasp, push, pull, reach, or walk
  • ability to lift and carry weights between 35 to 50 pounds
  • ability to exert force to draw, drag, or tug objects
  • ability to drive a truck or designated vehicle
  • ability to follow oral and written directions
  • ability to attend staff meetings and training sessions
  • adherence to safety and infection control policies
  • ability to interact professionally with residents, families, and staff

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in housekeeping skills
  • ability to understand, observe, and enforce infection control procedures
  • ability to understand and recognize potential physical, chemical, and electrical hazards
  • ability to safeguard the privacy of residents’ health information
  • ability to operate mechanical cleaning devices
  • ability to communicate effectively in English
  • ability to use desktop or laptop computers and designated facility computer systems
  • professional demeanor and positive attitude

Job Duties

  • Clean residents’ apartments in accordance with facility policy and direction
  • observe waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policy
  • empty wastebaskets and transport trash to disposal areas
  • assist in the proper care and use of housekeeping equipment
  • identify and report any malfunctioning equipment to supervisor
  • identify safety hazards and emergency situations
  • report any observed area in poor repair to supervisor
  • keep storage areas and wheeled carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy
  • replenish supplies such as soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and other housekeeping supplies
  • listen to and respond to questions and concerns from residents, families, or staff regarding apartments, facility, grounds, etc.
  • comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations
  • perform other related duties as needed to ensure the operation of the facility or as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager
