Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field or Associate’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field and two years related experience
  • Experience providing social service supports to youth ages 14-24
  • Experience coordinating and monitoring internships, work experience, job shadows, and informational interviews
  • Knowledge of Workforce Investment and Opportunity Act (WIOA)
  • Valid State Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to travel within a 17-county northeast Kansas territory
  • Availability to work part-time 20 hours per week
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Effective communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with advanced Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience providing social service supports to youth ages 14-24
  • Experience coordinating and monitoring internships, work experience, job shadows, and informational interviews
  • Experience supporting clients in workforce development programs
  • Knowledge of Workforce Investment and Opportunity Act (WIOA)

Job Duties

  • Facilitate work readiness training for youth ages 14-24
  • Assist youth to create a plan to meet their individual employment goals
  • Actively support youth to pursue employment through job leads, resume development, and mock interviews
  • Coordinate and promote opportunities for career exploration and hands-on learning
  • Outreach to businesses and organizations to create opportunities for youth, including paid work experience
  • Maintain and grow business relationships
  • Establish and monitor work experience sites that support youth goals and career interests
