Job Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Tribal Gaming License
  • valid health card
  • Hepatitis A vaccination
  • Mandatory Alcohol Server Training (MAST) certification
  • availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • favorable outcome of background investigation
  • ability to lift or move objects up to 65 pounds
  • capacity for detailed oral communication and sound discrimination
  • ability to express ideas verbally and rapidly
  • manual dexterity with fingers
  • repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements
  • ability to walk and move about during shifts
  • ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • one to three months related experience or training helpful
  • experience as a waiter or waitress preferred
  • excellent customer relations skills
  • ability to handle cash and give proper change
  • skill in problem identification and resolution under pressure
  • ability to learn and operate the POS system
  • strong communication skills
  • teamwork orientation
  • knowledge of wine and beverage service helpful

Job Duties

  • Ensure compliance with Kalispel Tribe of Indians Washington State regulations and KGCC policies
  • use the POS system effectively
  • greet guests with warmth and professionalism
  • explain daily specials and recommend appealing menu items
  • take beverage and food orders in correct sequence
  • serve meals with attention to detail and politeness
  • clear dishes and glassware promptly
  • present and explain guest checks
  • handle payments and provide change accurately
  • provide attentive and friendly service continuously
  • educate guests on menu items including wine pairings
  • communicate and resolve guest issues with supervisor support
  • maintain orderly handling of payments
  • sell and refill beverages including alcoholic drinks
  • maintain assigned sections and workstations
  • assist other servers to ensure teamwork
  • complete side work to uphold cleanliness and supply levels
  • perform paper and bookwork accurately at shift end
  • report guest feedback to supervisor
  • keep confidential records of tips
  • attend training meetings
  • assist in additional projects as assigned
  • possibly serve as panelist for internal review board hearings
  • adapt duties as needed to meet job demands
