Job Requirements

  • 17 years or older
  • food handling card or certification through approved organization
  • able to lift and move 50 pounds and sustain working long hours on your feet
  • should have reliable transportation to get to scheduled shifts on time
  • 1-2 years sushi cook experience in a restaurant kitchen
  • basic knife skills
  • prep production and recipe execution abilities
  • can follow directives and instructions on the spot during busy times
  • working knowledge of common weights and recipe measurements
  • ability to read tickets and execute food accurately and in a timely fashion
  • ability to work in close quarters with other cooks successfully
  • outgoing personality with the ability to talk to new people regularly

Job Qualifications

  • 1-2 years sushi cook experience in a restaurant kitchen

Job Duties

  • Execute food tickets accurately to spec and within desired ticket time
  • attain knowledge and ability to execute all menu items
  • apply safe food handling and sanitation practices when preparing, handling or storing consumable items
  • ensure proper product rotation using consistent first in, first out practices
  • maintain a working environment set up for success by properly setting up and breaking down kitchen and dish areas, stocking stations properly, completing daily side work and cleaning duties, and keeping cooking areas organized throughout service
  • follow directives and instructions during busy times
  • work successfully in close quarters with other cooks
