Job Requirements

Job Duties
- Report changes in the elder's condition to a supervisor or nurse
- Responsible for administering medications as scheduled as well as ordering them in a timely manner
- Assist elder with activities of daily living according to the Negotiated Service Agreement and/or Level of Care
- Attend department meetings as scheduled or needed, to discuss elder's needs and progress in identifying and correcting problems
- Report accidents and incidents when they occur
- Assist with and/or perform restorative and rehabilitative procedures as outlined by the Service Plan
- Observe standard precautions per Household policy
- Measure and record vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, respirations, weight, height, anatomical dimension/circumference
- Report any resident abuse or suspected abuse to the supervisor or nurse immediately
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy of elder care, procedure, and documentation
- Clean and maintain the environment of the household
- Serve and clean up after meals and snacks
- Make beds and change bed linens
- Work with security to assure that elders emergency call systems are working at all times
- Communicate with co-workers at all levels to adequately meet the needs of elders
- Assist with psychosocial programming to ensure both physical and cognitive stimulation in a social setting on campus and off
- Provide opportunities for ongoing social events both on campus and in the community
- Attend and participate in orientation programs, ongoing training and educational classes
