Job Requirements
- Part-time availability with weekend work
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in hospitality or customer service preferred
- ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- proficiency in using computer systems and phone operations
- must be able to handle food safely
- ability to follow cash handling procedures
- must obtain or have TIPS certification
- physically able to perform duties such as standing for extended periods
- reliable and punctual
- ability to resolve guest issues promptly
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in hotel front office or related customer service role preferred
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to multitask and manage time efficiently
- proficiency with hotel management software such as SMS lodging system
- knowledge of Grand Rapids area and local attractions
- ability to handle cash transactions accurately
- TIPS certification or willingness to obtain
- strong problem-solving skills
- ability to maintain professionalism and composure in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- Operate SMS lodging system
- check-in and checkout large volume of guests
- manage phone calls from guestrooms/outside lines/internal calls
- advanced knowledge of Grand Rapids/greater Grand Rapids area
- general knowledge of booking reservations
- ability to build guest relationships
- ability to recommend and identify opportunities for guests
- resolve guest concerns at first contact
- advance knowledge of hotel outlets and operations
- follow cash handling/banking outlined by general cashier
- attend departmental meetings
- follow AHC handbook policies and standard operating procedures
- actively looking for ways to assists guests and going above and beyond to provide guest service
- ensuring excellent quality and level of service
- reads or listens to Daily Beat
- uses other AHC hotels and staff as resources
- must be or become TIPS certified
- complete all daily responsibilities/cleaning task list
- report any unusual behavior or issues to management
