Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a Junior Sous Chef role or similar culinary position
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and inventory management software
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
  • Effective communication skills
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand or remain stationary for extended periods
  • Comfortable using kitchen equipment and tools safely

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • a degree in culinary arts, hospitality management, or a related field is preferred
  • Previous experience in a Junior Sous Chef role, ideally within a restaurant, catering, or hospitality environment
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and inventory management software
  • ability to create visually appealing labels
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
  • Proactive approach to identifying challenges and implementing effective solutions
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook meals to meet Kommissary's high-quality standards in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
  • Provide comprehensive administrative assistance to the culinary team, including scheduling meetings, calendar management, managing correspondence, and maintaining organized documentation
  • Design and print labels for inventory, menu items, and food storage, ensuring clarity and organization in the kitchen
  • Assist in inputting manufacturing orders into Inflow, monitoring inventory levels, placing orders for supplies, and conducting regular audits to ensure stock accuracy
  • Be the technological hands of the chefs - support Executive Chefs to file updates for recipes, ordering sheets, new menus, menu descriptions and recipe files
  • Generate reports on unit conversions from recipes, inventory usage, food costs, and operational efficiency to support the culinary team's decision-making processes
  • Assist in planning and coordinating culinary events and special projects, managing logistical details to ensure successful execution
