Job Requirements

  • Valid food handler's permit
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, high-energy kitchen environment

Job Qualifications

  • 2-3 years experience in a similar role such as Junior Sous Chef or Line Cook, preferably with Italian cuisine experience
  • Culinary degree or certification preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to multitask effectively
  • Collaborative team spirit

Job Duties

  • Support our Sous Chef and Kitchen Manager with food preparation, menu execution, and daily kitchen operations
  • Ensure consistency and quality in all dishes by following The Sicilian Butcher's signature recipes
  • Help train and mentor kitchen staff in food safety, preparation techniques, and best practices
  • Take a leading role in food safety, temperature control, and quality assurance
  • Oversee activities of cooks and kitchen staff, ensuring an efficient, clean, and productive workspace
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering food products, and controlling food costs
  • Contribute to catering and special events, supporting seamless food preparation and service
