Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent experience
  • minimum one year food service or related work experience
  • knowledge of cooking and kitchen procedures
  • ability to perform non-repetitive analytical work
  • ability to lift and carry food cases and kitchen equipment up to 70 lbs
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • ability to climb periodically
  • mobility to travel 30-50 feet regularly
  • ability to bend knees frequently
  • ability to hear equipment timers and communicate effectively
  • ability to see product preparation clearly
  • ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards
  • start food items that are prepared ahead of time without exceeding estimated needs
  • date all food containers and rotate stock according to SOP, ensure proper storage temperatures
  • check pars for shift use and determine necessary preparation, freezer pull, and line setup
  • note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages
  • assist in keeping buffet stocked
  • return unused food items to designated storage areas with proper covering and dating
  • assist in setting up plans to correct food cost problems and control food waste, loss, and usage per SOP
