Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year food service or related experience
- Ability to lift and carry food cases and equipment weighing up to 70 lbs
- Physical ability to bend knees frequently and perform continuous standing
- Full range of mobility to travel 30-50 feet regularly
- Capability to work in varying temperatures including freezers and hot kitchen environments
- Ability to hear equipment timers and communicate effectively
- Must accurately see product preparation
- Ability to follow instructions verbally and in writing
Job Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent experience
- Minimum one year food service or related culinary work experience
- Knowledge of cooking practices and kitchen procedures to perform non-repetitive analytical work
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
- Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing
Job Duties
- Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards
- Start food items that are prepared ahead of time without exceeding estimated needs
- Date all food containers and rotate stock according to standard operating procedures
- Ensure all perishables are stored at proper temperatures
- Check pars for shift preparation, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull, and line setup
- Note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages
- Assist in keeping buffet stocked and maintain proper inventory
- Return unused food items to designated storage areas, ensuring all perishables are covered and dated
- Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost issues, controlling food waste, loss and usage per SOP
