Job Requirements
- Must have and maintain an active management level food handler's certification (ServSafe) and adhere to local food handler requirements
- exemplary record of attendance, safety and performance in previous positions
- ability to perform all duties responsibly and efficiently
- authorized to work in the U.S.
- ability to handle kitchen equipment and tools safely
- ability to move throughout the cafe and kitchen
- ability to lift and carry items up to 40 lbs
- ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, squat and kneel frequently
- ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment under pressure
Job Qualifications
- Culinary degree preferred but not required
- 3-5 years' experience in kitchen management in a full service, moderate to high volume restaurant or equivalent
- excellent culinary skills
- strong leadership skills
- ability to manage multiple tasks and work well under pressure
- excellent verbal communication skills
- ability to use Microsoft Office and ERP systems
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines
- ability to support union employees and collaborate with union representatives if applicable
- good organizational and interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- Responsible for achieving company objectives and goals
- foster and promote the Flagship brand and values within the client's culinary culture
- promote and ensure that all staff is adhering to Flagship's safety culture
- maintain a safe working environment by using food handling skills and proper food safety guidelines
- develop and maintain an employee engagement program based on Flagship core values
- manage scheduling, performance, and communication with staff
- continuously seek opportunities to improve the customer experience
- serve as a role model demonstrating appropriate behaviors
- ensure food production according to recipes and standards
- oversee food procurement, inventory, storage, preparation, and service
- conduct daily line checks, food reviews, and recipe evaluations
- maintain kitchen cleanliness to meet health standards
- train staff on sanitation guidelines
- interview new team members
- other duties as assigned
