Job Requirements
- Completion of 4-8 weeks minimum team training course and certification prior to mobilization
- ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 100 lbs
- able to stand for long periods in all weather conditions
- able to perform intermittent sitting, walking, running, climbing, squatting, stretching, bending, and kneeling
- constant use of hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls
- residence adequate for canine living, indoor and climate-controlled
- willing to operate company vehicle during on-site training
- must be able to pass applicable contract testing and certifications within four to eight weeks of employment
- maintain certification requirements
- flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- availability for travel
- maintain security clearances throughout employment
Job Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship is required
- must have held citizenship for a minimum of three years prior to date of application
- must be able to obtain a Known Traveler Number (KTN) within four to six weeks of employment
- must be able to obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge within four to six weeks of employment
- must be able to obtain a Security Threat Assessment (STA) for Airport Badge within four to six weeks of employment
- adequate transportation with operational climate control to transport assigned canine and crate
- valid US drivers license and satisfactory driver record
- driver’s license must be compliant with REAL ID standards or possess a valid U.S. passport
- effective oral and written communication skills
- strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities
- problem-solving skills with an analytical thought process
- ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
Job Duties
- Participate in CCSP related training to search cargo and identify potential threats
- conduct authorized representative duties related to X-Ray, physical search, and explosive trace detection as needed
- perform Junior Handler duties while commanding a trained working dog
- maintain training records, care, and maintenance of assigned certified canine
- ensure the canine's living area at the employee's residence is adequate, indoor, and climate-controlled and subject to reoccurring inspections
- maintain all job-related certifications and required security clearances
- operate company vehicle during on-site training
- perform other duties as assigned
