Job Requirements
- must be a high school graduate or hold GED
- minimum one year previous mechanical experience or the ability to pass a mechanical aptitude test
- ability to work a non-traditional schedule including weekends and holidays
- must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- must obtain and maintain an airport security badge
- must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under company policy
- must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol policy
- must be committed to working safely and promoting a safe work environment at all times
Job Qualifications
- high school graduate or general education degree (GED)
- minimum one year mechanical experience or ability to pass a mechanical aptitude test
- previous experience in an airport environment preferred
- experience with conveyors and passenger boarding bridges preferred
- basic computer skills for email and training modules
- ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- ability to accept responsibility and demonstrate integrity
- ability to work well with diverse individuals and follow company procedures
- physical ability to perform required tasks
Job Duties
- Assist technicians with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of baggage handling systems and passenger boarding bridges
- perform preventive, routine and emergency maintenance tasks including clearing system jams
- assist with shift inspections, cleaning, and mechanical or electrical adjustments
- diagnose equipment failures under supervision
- read and interpret repair manuals and schematics
- work safely in confined and high spaces using appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment
- complete safety training and comply with company and federal policies
- maintain accurate records connected with work assignments
- perform additional duties as required by management
