Job Requirements
- High school graduate or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum one year of previous mechanical experience or one year previous baggage handling system or passenger boarding bridge experience or ability to pass a mechanical aptitude test
- Ability to work a non-traditional schedule including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an airport security badge
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under company’s insurance policy
- Must comply with the ELS drug and alcohol policy
- Must be committed to working safely and promoting a safe work environment
- Ability to work under physical demands including frequent standing, walking, handling, reaching, climbing, crawling, squatting, bending, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in dusty, dirty, and noisy airport terminal environment
- Ability to complete all assigned safety and training courses
- Ability to work effectively under pressure within time constraints
Job Qualifications

- Previous work experience in an airport environment preferred
- Previous experience working on conveyors and/or passenger boarding bridges preferred

Job Duties
- Assist varied levels of technicians with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of baggage handling systems and/or passenger boarding bridges
- Assist with basic maintenance assignments involving preventive, routine and emergency maintenance, clearing system jams, shift inspections, cleaning, and/or electrical and mechanical adjustments
- Diagnose equipment failures under guidance of senior personnel
- Ensure equipment is running safely
- Take direction and seek guidance and expertise of senior personnel
- Accept training and mentoring
- Read and interpret repair manuals, basic schematics, and supervisor/manager instructions
- Work in tight and/or high spaces utilizing appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment
- Follow and comply with all company and federally established policies and procedures
- Complete all applicable training courses
- Complete forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures
- Perform additional duties and assignments as required by management
- Assist technicians with basic maintenance such as sweeping, cleaning, and greasing
- Comply with all ELS safety programs, policies and procedures
- Complete all safety training assigned by the company
