Job Requirements
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- must be able to obtain and maintain an airport security badge
- must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under company insurance policy
- must comply with ELS drug and alcohol policy
- must commit to working safely and promoting safe work environment
- high school graduate or GED
- minimum 1 year of mechanical experience or ability to pass mechanical aptitude test
- ability to work non-traditional schedules including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or general education degree (GED)
- minimum 1 year of previous mechanical experience, 1 year previous baggage handling system or passenger boarding bridge experience, or ability to pass a mechanical aptitude test
- ability to work non-traditional schedules including weekends and holidays
- previous airport environment experience preferred
- previous experience working on conveyors and passenger boarding bridges preferred
- basic computer knowledge with ability to retrieve and respond to emails and complete training
- good communication skills, both oral and written
- ability to work under pressure and meet time constraints
Job Duties
- Assists technicians with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of baggage handling systems and passenger boarding bridges
- assists with basic maintenance tasks including preventive, routine and emergency maintenance, clearing system jams, shift inspections, cleaning, and electrical and mechanical adjustments
- diagnoses equipment failures under senior guidance ensuring safe operations
- follows direction and training from senior personnel
- reads and interprets repair manuals, basic schematics and supervisor or manager instructions
- works in tight and elevated spaces using proper PPE and fall protection equipment
- complies with company and federal policies and completes all required training
- fills out forms related to work assignments as per procedures
- performs additional duties as assigned by management
- assists with basic maintenance such as sweeping, cleaning and greasing
- completes safety training and complies with ELS safety programs and policies
- performs other assignments as required by management
