Job Requirements
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an airport security badge
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the company’s insurance policy
- Must be committed to working safely and complying with company safety policies
- Must complete all assigned safety training
- Ability to work in physical conditions involving lifting, bending, climbing, crawling and standing
- Ability to perform under time constraints and pressure
- Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve problems
- Ability to undergo training and accept mentorship
- Availability for non-traditional work schedules including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum 1 year of mechanical experience or BHS/PBB experience or ability to pass a mechanical aptitude test
- Ability to work non-traditional schedules including weekends and holidays
- Previous airport environment experience preferred
- Previous conveyor or passenger boarding bridge experience preferred
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing
- Ability to accept responsibility and be accountable
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to build relationships with customers and coworkers
- Ability to work well with diverse populations
Job Duties
- Assist with basic maintenance assignments including preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance
- Clear system jams
- Conduct shift inspections
- Perform cleaning and greasing tasks
- Make electrical and mechanical adjustments under guidance
- Diagnose equipment failures under supervision
- Read and interpret repair manuals and schematics
- Work in tight or elevated spaces using PPE and fall protection equipment
- Follow company and federal policies and procedures
- Complete all assigned safety training and work-related forms
- Assist technicians and perform additional duties as required
- Promote a safe work environment at all times
