Job Requirements
- Ability to establish and maintain professional and positive relationships between kitchen, service staff, and colleagues
- study and incorporate current industry trends into menus and presentation
- maintain positive resident relationships and address concerns professionally
- ensure team schedules meet volume demands and comply with policies
- complete timely and accurate documentation including performance reviews and training logs
- prepare yearly capital equipment needs in coordination with Building Services
- meet all budget requirements and provide financial performance commentary
- engage team members in quality assurance and process improvement initiatives
Job Qualifications
- Culinary Arts Degree or Professional Chef Certification such as CEC or CIA ProChef 3
- 7+ years progressive supervisory experience in a high-quality, scratch multi-venue kitchen environment
- effective communication and leadership abilities
- ability to multi-task and make independent decisions
- current sanitation certification and any other required federal, state, or local certifications
- computer skills including MS Office, SharePoint, online training platforms, recipe and inventory control software, scheduling systems, web-based purchasing platforms, sanitation dashboards, point of sale systems, and email
Job Duties
- Develop menus and restaurant concepts for multiple dining venues, partner with pastry chef to develop desserts and presentation standards, establish and support a 100% scratch approach to food preparation, implement 'a la minute' preparation standards, direct and monitor food production ensuring quality and minimizing waste, ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation procedures according to HACCP and regulatory requirements, manage food purchasing focusing on local producers and cost-effectiveness
