Job Requirements
- Active Management Level Food Handlers' Certification (ServSafe)
- Adhere to local food handler requirements
- Consistently perform duties responsibly and efficiently
- 3-5 years of kitchen management in full-service, moderate to high volume restaurant or equivalent
- Demonstrated success in previous culinary roles
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high noise, and changing environments
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs with assistance over 40 lbs
- Good or corrective vision
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and twisting
- Ability to work safely around hot surfaces and chemicals
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
Job Qualifications
- Culinary degree preferred but not required
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Strong culinary skills
- Leadership skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to understand and speak Spanish is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to safely handle kitchen equipment
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Professional appearance
- High sense of urgency
- Experience working with union employees
- Ability to delegate and hold others accountable
- Knowledge of kitchen layout and equipment usage
Job Duties
- Responsible for achieving company objectives and goals
- Foster and promote the Flagship brand and values within the client’s culinary culture
- Promote and ensure that all staff is adhering to Flagship’s safety culture
- Maintain a safe working environment by using food handling skills and proper food safety guidelines
- Develop and maintain an employee engagement program based on Flagship core values
- Partner with upper management and HR for guidance on corrective actions, reviews, and employee issues
- Consistently meet company Key Performance Indicators such as safety, staffing levels, and attrition
- Follow standard operation procedures set by the company
- Manage assigned staff including scheduling, time clock activity, and performance
- Communicate job expectations to hourly employees and monitor, appraise job results
- Coach, counsel, discipline employees
- Develop and enforce systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards
- Seek opportunities to improve the customer experience
- Encourage mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
- Work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Serve as a role model demonstrating appropriate behaviors
- Manage food production according to recipes and directions
- Set, manage, and follow up on prep and production goals
- Maintain food quality standards
- Oversee all phases of food procurement, production, and service including inventory and ordering
- Conduct daily line checks, food reviews, and recipes of the day
- Provide clear feedback to the kitchen team
- Ensure cleanliness and pass Health Department audits
- Prepare food items consistently with portion sizes and quality standards
- Interview new team members considering Flagship values and culture
- Perform other assigned duties
