Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food Handler's permit or ability to obtain one
  • Prior experience in food service or cooking preferred
  • Ability to stand, walk over rough surfaces, bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach and lift moderately heavy items
  • Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and food safety protocols
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Age preference for candidates 19 years or older

Job Qualifications

  • Food Handler's permit or willingness to obtain one while employed
  • Ability to follow recipes and prepare nutritious meals
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Preference for candidates aged 19 or older

Job Duties

  • Cooks, bakes, or serves regular and/or special meals to clients and/or staff
  • Ensures that food is maintained at appropriate temperatures
  • Prepares salads and garnishes and assists in basic food preparation or ordering
  • Distributes food using appropriate food handling and sanitation techniques
  • Practices food safety and public health protection
  • Maintains inventory
  • Tracks receipts
  • Cleans, sterilizes and/or disinfects areas and/or equipment
  • Uses cleaning agents, products and equipment
