Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Food Handler's permit or ability to obtain one
- Prior experience in food service or cooking preferred
- Ability to stand, walk over rough surfaces, bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach and lift moderately heavy items
- Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and food safety protocols
- Strong attention to detail
- Age preference for candidates 19 years or older
Job Qualifications
- Food Handler's permit or willingness to obtain one while employed
- Ability to follow recipes and prepare nutritious meals
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Preference for candidates aged 19 or older
Job Duties
- Cooks, bakes, or serves regular and/or special meals to clients and/or staff
- Ensures that food is maintained at appropriate temperatures
- Prepares salads and garnishes and assists in basic food preparation or ordering
- Distributes food using appropriate food handling and sanitation techniques
- Practices food safety and public health protection
- Maintains inventory
- Tracks receipts
- Cleans, sterilizes and/or disinfects areas and/or equipment
- Uses cleaning agents, products and equipment
