Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Valid teaching certificate (preferred or required depending on district)
  • Coaching certification and/or experience in secondary athletics
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations of the University Interscholastic League (UIL)
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to mentor student-athletes and coaches
  • Willingness to work extended hours including evenings and weekends during athletic seasons
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to travel for athletic competitions

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes and coaches

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and supervise all junior high boys athletic programs
  • Oversee scheduling, practices, and competitions for junior high boys athletics
  • Ensure compliance with district policies and governing athletic organizations such as the University Interscholastic League (UIL)
  • Hire, supervise, mentor, and evaluate junior high boys coaches
  • Develop practice plans and athletic program goals that emphasize skill development and sportsmanship
  • Monitor and promote academic eligibility and success of student-athletes
  • Maintain equipment, facilities, and uniforms used by boys athletic teams
  • Assist with budgeting and purchasing of athletic equipment and supplies
  • Communicate regularly with the Athletic Director, campus administration, parents, and coaches
  • Ensure safety procedures and proper supervision during practices, games, and travel
  • Coordinate transportation, game management, and event supervision
  • Promote positive character development and leadership among student-athletes
  • Maintain accurate records of participation, schedules, and program activities
  • Assist with campus supervision and duties as assigned
  • Support overall school athletic events and programs
  • Promote community engagement and school spirit through athletics
