Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age at time of hire
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- High school diploma or GED at time of hire
- Completion of at least one trades course or enrollment in accredited trades program
- Possession of valid state driver’s license
- Ability to successfully complete background investigation
- Ability to work safely and knowledge of safety regulations
- Ability to drive a pick-up truck and similar vehicles
- Physical capacity to perform demanding tasks including climbing and lifting up to 100 pounds
- Willingness to work night hours, weekends, and be on call for emergencies
- Must use personal protective equipment
- Ability to speak and write effectively
- Skill with computerized systems
- Ability to obtain Class B Commercial Driver’s License as required.
Job Qualifications

- Ability to learn equipment maintenance knowledge and skills as scheduled in Trades Apprentice Employment Program
- Ability to drive a pick-up truck and use similar vehicles
- Ability to work safely and knowledge of safety rules and procedures
- Ability to speak and write effectively
- Skill in using computerized work order and time and attendance systems
- Ability to successfully complete an Airports Authority background investigation
- High school diploma or GED at time of hire
- Completion of at least one trades course or current enrollment in an accredited trades program
- Possession of a valid state driver’s license in good standing
- Ability to obtain Class B Commercial Driver’s License within 90 days if required by assignment.
Job Duties
- Learn to determine causes of operating problems and make repairs to heavy equipment, passenger boarding bridges, generators and ground power units, and aircraft pre-conditioned air units
- Learn to proficiently use manuals, technical guides, electrical diagrams and schematics, diagnostic software, hand and power tools
- Assist journey-level Jet Bridge Technicians to assemble and transport tools and materials and complete work tasks including handling tools and cleaning up
- Learn to perform preventive maintenance, trace and locate defects, and repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and hydraulic systems under guidance
- Work safely with electrical circuits and follow lock-out-tag-out procedures
- Store and stock materials and equipment, remove debris, clean shop/work areas
- Learn and apply EPA regulations for refrigerant handling and other trade-related codes
- Assist in preparing and maintaining work orders and preventive maintenance using computerized systems
- Drive a pick-up truck or similar vehicle on airport complex and to suppliers using two-way radios
- Perform other duties as assigned.
