Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 3 to 6 months experience in a warehouse using electric pallet jacks
- Basic knowledge of repair techniques or job training alongside an experienced custodian
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Physical ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work overnight shifts Tuesday through Friday from 4 pm to 2:30 am
- Must be in sound physical health as determined by a licensed physician
- Ability to follow chemical and safety procedures
- Forklift driver skills preferred
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 6 months experience in a custodial or warehouse environment
- Ability to effectively communicate, read, write, and speak English
- Basic knowledge of cleaning and sanitation procedures
- Ability to follow instructions from management
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to crouch, crawl, and ascend or descend steps
- Valid forklift driver certification or experience preferred
- Experience with sanitation for food facility is a plus
- Experience finishing or refinishing floors is desirable
Job Duties
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them
- Gather and empty trash
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms
- Clean and polish furniture and fixtures
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners and squeegees
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment
- Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications
- Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors
- Drive vehicles required to perform or travel to cleaning work including vans, industrial trucks, or industrial vacuum cleaners
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage
- Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies manually or by using hand trucks
- Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems
- Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas using snowplows, snow blowers, and shovels and spread snow melting chemicals as needed
- Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
- Spray insecticides and fumigants to prevent insect and rodent infestation
- Perform other duties as required by supervisor
