Job Requirements
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects and tools
- Ability to reach with hands and arms and climb stairs
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Must maintain uniform and neat appearance
- Must be punctual
- Ability to understand and speak English in some positions
- Willingness to attend periodic training and safety meetings
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Six months experience in commercial facilities and building janitorial work desired
- Knowledge of basic janitorial duties and responsibilities
- Good listening and verbal communication skills
- Ability to understand and anticipate the needs of clients
- Punctual and able to maintain a neat appearance
- Willingness to attend safety and training meetings
Job Duties
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, wax and polish floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines
- Dust and wash walls, clean ceilings, dust and polish light fixtures, wash and replace blinds
- Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas
- Remove stains from rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions
- Sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow or perform other incidental seasonal tasks
- Empty waste baskets and replace liners
- Clean and sanitize toilets, basins, and urinals
- Dust and clean tops of office furniture
- Spot clean soiled areas on carpets as needed
- Wipe and clean vending machines and appliances
- Clean sink and counter areas
- Sweep and mop tile floors
- Keep janitor's closet neat and orderly
- Maintain and properly care for cleaning equipment
- Attend periodic training and safety meetings
