Job Requirements

- previous experience in cleaning or maintenance preferred
- ability to use cleaning and maintenance equipment
- physical stamina and dexterity
- reliable and punctual
- good communication skills
- ability to follow instructions
- ability to lift and move furniture safely
- willingness to perform outdoor maintenance tasks in various weather conditions
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- experience in custodial or building maintenance work preferred
- ability to operate custodial equipment such as polishers, buffers, vacuum cleaners, and carpet shampooers
- basic repair skills using hand tools
- physical ability to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks
- good communication skills for training and record-keeping
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- awareness of safety and cleanliness standards
Job Duties
- keep buildings in clean and orderly condition
- maintain the appearance and cleanliness of floors
- wash interior surfaces of buildings such as walls, ceilings, windows, etc.
- maintain grounds around buildings
- empty waste receptacles
- move furniture
- perform minor repairs to buildings using hand tools and equipment
- operate freight elevators to pick up and deliver clothing, laundry, equipment, etc.
- dust and polish furniture
- perform outside duties such as washing windows, sweeping walks, shoveling snow, picking up trash
- load or unload equipment and supplies from vehicles
- set up furniture such as beds, desks and cabinets
- provide on-the-job training and orientation to employees
- inspect assigned areas for cleanliness and safety
- maintain records or logs on assigned unit activities
- operate electrically-powered scrubber and vacuum floor machine
