Job Requirements
- must have steel toe boots with defined heel
- must have driver’s license
- ability to handle industrial strength chemicals safely
- must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs
- ability to work in various weather conditions
- willingness to perform physical janitorial tasks
- capability to follow detailed instructions and company policies
- must be able to bend climb and perform repetitive motions
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior janitorial or cleaning experience preferred
- ability to work safely with industrial chemicals
- ability to follow safety and company guidelines
- good physical stamina and ability to perform physical work
- basic organizational skills needed for schedule creation and team management
- valid driver’s license
Job Duties
- perform all general required tasks as directed by the superintendent and general foreman
- perform all tasks within proper safety guidelines company guidelines and as directed by management
- perform assignments according to company schedule and as expected by the customer
- perform janitorial tasks based on defined scope of work and customer requests
- load and unload into buses and company vans
- navigate uneven walking surfaces such as gravel parking lots
- climb sweep mop stairs
- work with industrial strength chemicals
- bend to empty and re-line trash receptacles
- lift and carry multiple large bags of trash to dumpster
- lift boxes of supplies such as toilet paper and paper towels
- sweep and mop large areas
- sweep with dust mops
- vacuum large carpeted areas
- lift mop bucket with water and cleaner inside
- dust areas as needed
- bend to clean toilets
- bend to get supplies from cabinet under sinks
- clean counter tops and tables
- clean microwaves and coffee bars
- dust and clean water coolers
- clean windows and glass surfaces
- clean walls and doors
- clean smoking areas as requested by building managers
- lift items 50 lbs or less
- move chairs and tables
- push pull janitorial cart
- endure exposure to high temperatures and weather
- clean laboratory areas with potential exposure to chemicals
- create weekend schedules and manage a team of janitors
