Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of safety hazards and cleaning/sanitizing solutions
- Detail-oriented and thorough
- Ability to perform basic repairs and operate maintenance tools
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and order
- Professional, polite, and courteous interaction with staff, members, and visitors
- Completion of annual safety and prevention trainings
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Willingness to respond to emergencies and remain alert during shifts

Job Duties
- Models the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization
- Maintains physical presence and remains alert while on duty
- Responds to emergency situations following YMCA policies and completes required reports
- Performs general cleaning and janitorial duties in common areas
- Performs minor repairs and maintenance tasks such as replacing light fixtures and unclogging pipes
- Assists in cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, fitness areas, and child care rooms
- Performs limited grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, and snow removal
- Ensures heating and cooling systems are functional
- Maintains janitor's room ensuring supplies are stocked
- Washes windows
- Examines facilities for safety hazards and reports deficiencies
- Performs equipment checks and cleans/stores equipment
- Attends mandatory meetings and trainings
- Acts as an ambassador for YMCA programs focusing on member engagement
- Willingness to contribute beyond job description for overall YMCA success
