Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Six months of experience performing cleaning tasks using standard or janitorial cleaning tools or industrial-type cleaning equipment
  • Ability to safely operate heavy industrial cleaning equipment
  • Physical ability to perform moderately heavy physical effort including lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work from ladders and scaffolds
  • Willingness to follow safety guidelines related to cleaning chemicals and equipment
  • Capability to work part-time hours between 20 and 34.5 hours per week

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Six months of experience performing cleaning tasks using standard or janitorial cleaning tools or industrial-type cleaning equipment
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a schedule
  • Physical ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and safety procedures

Job Duties

  • Receives specific oral or written instructions and assignments from supervisor or crew leader
  • Maintains a specific area orderly and clean
  • Sets up own schedule and sequence for required frequency of each task
  • Scrubs, strips, waxes, and polishes floors using heavy industrial vacuum cleaner
  • Adjusts, cleans, oils machines and changes brushes, rollers, buffers and other attachments
  • Sweeps floors, hallways, empties garbage, dusts office furniture, empties ashtrays, shampoos rugs, cleans air vents, disinfects and deodorizes toilets and lavatories
  • Washes and replaces venetian blinds, washes ceiling fixtures, changes light bulbs and room partitions using ladders and scaffolds
  • Cleans, maintains machines and equipment and makes adjustments
  • Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor and performs minor repairs
  • Removes stains from rugs, drapes, walls, floors, fixtures using chemicals and cleaning solutions
  • Moves heavy furniture, supplies and equipment
  • Cleans windows and doors inside and out at ground levels
  • May operate motor vehicle in performance of duties on a limited basis
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
