- prior custodial or cleaning experience preferred
- ability to operate cleaning equipment
- familiarity with cleaning chemicals and safety procedures
- basic maintenance skills

Job Duties
- Responsible for collecting and removing trash and recycling in accordance with cleaning schedules
- cleans and removes hazardous or misplaced items, waste and spills and disposes and transports, or places such in appropriate receptacle locations
- prepares, mixes and dilutes cleaning solutions according to manufacturer directions
- washes floors, corridors, stairwells, walls, partitions and windows using mops, detergents, brushes and other cleaning tools
- responsible for vacuuming, stripping and waxing floors
- shampoos carpets, using manual or mechanical equipment
- scrubs and cleans showers and all restrooms, including toilets, sinks and drains
- replaces light bulbs, and dusts or washes light fixtures and high places, such as ceilings, using ladders, other appropriate equipment, and tools
- performs basic and routine maintenance on mechanical and manual equipment used to perform the above tasks
- reports and recommends repairs and maintenance tasks requiring skilled trades work to supervisor
- utilizes electronic systems for receiving and tracking work orders
- oversee the distribution, collection and storage of building keys or other security system access rights
- may provide training to lower-level cleaning staff
- assigns tasks
- provides instructions and assistance
- demonstrates proper cleaning procedures
- reviews work in progress and upon completion to cleaners
