Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with janitorial and specialized cleaning services
- Willingness to learn proper disposal techniques for biohazard materials
- Capable of using heavy mechanical cleaning equipment safely
- Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety in a healthcare environment
- Good communication skills and the ability to interact kindly with patients, visitors and staff
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous healthcare experience preferred
- Specialist or terminal cleaning experience preferred
Job Duties
- Perform all types of floor care and maintenance throughout the facility including hard surfaces and carpeting
- Clean and perform routine maintenance on floor equipment requesting assistance from plant operations and maintenance as needed
- Responsible for cleaning and disinfection of specialty units and equipment such as Surgical Services, Labor Delivery, Critical Care, Endoscopy, MRI, Trauma, Cath Lab, NICU, Mental Health and Burn Unit
- Demonstrate working knowledge of healthcare cleaning and disinfecting principles, proper and safe chemical use, equipment handling, and labor-saving products
- Assist in onboarding new Environment Services Technicians and serve as a mentor
- Remain patient, kind and personable in all interactions with patients, visitors, and staff
- Refill soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, tissue holders, and deliver clean linens to patient rooms
