- able to read, write and speak English
- physically healthy and strong enough to perform duties
- must have yearly TB test or chest x-ray
- must be familiar with basic housekeeping functions

Job Duties
- Receive assignments from housekeeping supervisor
- turn off lights around the building when scheduled
- use cart or dolly when moving heavy furniture to prevent carpet damage
- check and clean main entrance and outside smoking area
- mop floors in all restrooms
- vacuum dining room after mealtimes
- take out trash in all building areas
- vacuum main hallways on scheduled days
- shampoo carpets and clean accidents as needed
- change light bulbs when necessary
- plunge toilets as needed
- attend to residents' needs
- assist with furniture moves lifting up to 50 lbs
- perform snow removal in winter months
- water courtyards in summer months when supervisor is absent
- lock specified doors at designated times in the evening
- turn on outside and courtyard lights and turn off hallway lights in evenings
- close down kitchen including sweeping, mopping and cleaning dishwasher area
- mop walk-in fridge
- conduct final walk-through before leaving to ensure cleanliness and turn off all kitchen and dining room lights
- clean dishwasher with lime-away regularly
- clean and rinse dishwashing tables twice a week
- run and flush garbage disposal before leaving
- spray and clean floor mats nightly
- clean tile floors especially under dishwasher area
- maintain drains by cleaning soap buildup regularly
- spray garbage disposal and plumbing with lime-away every 2-3 days
- wash garbage cans nightly
