Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to stand, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
- Reliable transportation to work location
- Ability to follow health and safety guidelines
- Pass a drug screening and background check
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Must be punctual and dependable
Job Qualifications
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred but not required
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others
- Reliable and punctual
- Knowledge of basic cleaning equipment and chemicals
- Candidates selected for employment will be required to undergo a drug screening as part of the hiring process
- Must be able to lift to 25 pounds
Job Duties
- Clean and maintain common areas including hallways, stairways, lobbies, elevators, laundry rooms, and restrooms
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors in common areas
- Empty trash and recycling bins in all common areas and apartment units as needed
- Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces throughout common areas
- Ensure all restrooms are stocked with necessary supplies and kept sanitary
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor
- Assist with special cleaning projects such as deep cleaning or post-construction clean-ups
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a clean and hazard-free environment
- Ensure proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when replenishment is needed
- Assist in the turnover of vacant units by cleaning and preparing them for new tenants
- Use blower to maintain cleanliness of parking lots, sidewalks, and entryways
- Empty and clean pet waste stations
- Clean ground level exterior windows and glass surfaces including entrance doors
- Remove trash and debris from outdoor areas including lawns, courtyards, and parking areas
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of building exteriors ensuring no litter or unsightly areas
- Ensure that outdoor lighting and signage are clean and well-maintained
- Occasionally assist with seasonal cleaning tasks
- Report any exterior maintenance needs or safety hazards to the supervisor
